Experience nature’s music composed of bird songs and the rustling of old growth fruit trees that surrounds you. Enjoy the fragrance of flowers and savor seasonal fresh tropical fruit right off the trees. Be wowed by the ever-changing colors in the sky as the day draws to an end and be ready to be amazed as you settle into an evening of spectacular stargazing. Secluded and set away from the crowds of the busy resorts, this little gem of a setting is the perfect “jumping off point” for exploring the best that the Big Island has to offer!
The three bedroom two bath bungalow is light and airy with high ceilings and offers all the comforts of home, plus upgraded amenities that include WiFi (Wireless Internet), cable television, DVD/CD/MP3 player, iPod docking station and sound system, beach chairs, beach towels, cooler, umbrella, and body wash for the bath. The bungalow’s many windows allow for views of the surrounding tropical paradise and a refreshing cross breeze. Comfortable beds, full bath and plush linens are provided. Prepare delicious meals in the fully equipped kitchen or grill outdoors on the gas barbeque. Enjoy breakfast, lunch and dinner or a glass of wine or cocktail on the spacious wrap around lanai complete with lounge chairs and dining tables. A washer and dryer are provided for your convenience. Sample a “taste of Hawaii” with fresh vegetables, fruit, herbs and macadamia nuts from Kohala’s farmers’ market. Here at Hawi Hale, we invite you to participate in our green practices by recycling in bins that are provided.
Plenty of activities are close by to keep your days filled. The towns of Hawi and Kapa`au are a short walk/drive from the bungalow. These towns have all the quaint charm of old Hawaiian villages but are filled with the amenities of today. Shopping, restaurants, cafes, grocery stores, boutiques and art galleries just to name a few. Enjoy live entertainment by some of Hawaii’s best local musicians.
The famous black sand beach of spectacular Pololu Valley is just 15 minutes away. Enjoy the breath taking views from the scenic overlook or experience a nice hike into the valley below. Be sure to take your time and catch the sights on your drive to the “end of the road.” Polulu never fails to impress!
Other water activities such as swimming, snorkeling, and diving are a short drive away to pristine, undeveloped coastline teaming with colorful fish and healthy coral reefs. A twenty minute drive south will deliver you to Kohala’s “gold coast,” the best of the Big Island’s beaches for surfing, body surfing, lounging and sunning! At the end of the day, return home to the bungalow to enjoy the cool evening air and dinner on the lanai.
You may just decide to stay close to home and enjoy the beauty and splendor of the property. Treat yourself to a massage on the lanai, read a good book, watch a movie, listen to music, enjoy a catered dinner from a personal chef, go for a walk or hike on neighboring trails or just relax…the possibilities are endless!
