Aloha and E Komo Mai, Welcome, to the Kohala Country Cottage, a charming and quaint Hawaiian vacation rental cottage located near the historic towns of Hawi (pronounced Ha-vee) and Kapa`au in the beautiful region of North Kohala on the Big Island of Hawaii.
The Kohala Country Cottage is situated on an acre of lush, tropical paradise and is nestled between the beautiful Kohala mountain range and the rugged Kohala coastline. With upcountry views of the surrounding mountains, citrus orchards and lovely, colorful landscape, your bungalow is private, relaxing and the perfect romantic hideaway spot for any couple.
The one bedroom one bath studio bungalow is light and airy with a vaulted ceiling and offers amenities such as a ceiling fan, coffee maker, mini refrigerator, CD player, beach chairs, beach towels, cooler, umbrella, lotion, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and hairdryer. Your bungalow welcomes you to your home away from home with fresh island flowers, complimentary coffee, teas, and seasonal fruit upon availability. A private, outdoor shower allows you to immerse yourself into nature and enjoy the beautiful bird songs and tropical surroundings. A microwave and hot plate are available for your convenience and a gas barbeque grill is available if you wish to prepare fresh island fish, locally grown vegetables or local grass fed beef.

The bungalow’s many windows allow for views of the surrounding tropical paradise and a refreshing cross breeze. A queen size bed, full bath and plush linens are provided. Enjoy your morning coffee or a glass of wine or cocktail on the lanai while viewing Lea, the resident horse, prance about in the lovely lime orchard.
Plenty of activities are close by to keep your days filled. The towns of Hawi and Kapa`au are a short drive from the bungalow. These towns have all the quaint charm of old Hawaiian villages but are filled with the amenities of today. Shopping, restaurants, cafes, grocery stores, boutiques and art galleries just to name a few. Enjoy nightly live entertainment by some of Hawaii’s best local musicians.
The famous black sand beach of spectacular Pololu Valley is just 5 minutes away. Enjoy the breath taking views from the scenic overlook or experience a nice hike into the valley below. Be sure to take your time and catch the sights on your drive to the “end of the road.” Polulu never fails to impress!

Other water activities such as swimming, snorkeling, and diving are a short drive away to pristine, undeveloped coastline teaming with colorful fish and healthy coral reefs. A thirty minute drive south will deliver you to Kohala’s “gold coast,” the best of the Big Island’s beaches for surfing, body surfing, lounging and sunning! At the end of the day, return home to the bungalow to enjoy the cool evening air and dinner on the lanai.
