Ann Lee Lowerre was called to the life
of an Artist from a very young age. She has painted and
sketched for as long as she can remember following and
living her Mother's example of the passion and struggle
this vocation demands. Ann's calling drew her to the unique
medium of batik painting , a medium in which she
is able to stretch and evolve constantly. Her work reveals
her dedication to the challenge of batik painting that
requires intense concentration while working from light
to dark colors and switching from positive and negative
space.
Ann's love of change and adventure has been the impetus for travel
throughout the world, experiencing a multitude of people and places that
are reflected in the vibrancy of her work. Her paintings are greatly
appreciated by many collectors and live in private collections all over
the U.S.,
Europe and Japan.
Central to Ann's life are her husband and two daughters. As a family
they have always lived at the beach or in the mountains. Her daughters
who are grown are her best friends. She and her husband live in Waimea
on the Big Island where they love to surf and hike reveling in the natural
beauty of Hawaii.
