Sushi Rock is a hot, new sushi restaurant
located in the historic town of Hawi. Specializing in new
wave sushi and fine seafood dishes, such
as Rio’s Hawaiian Style Ceviche in an avocado bowl
with fresh papaya salsa. Their sushi rolls use the freshest
locally caught fish as well as the highest quality wild
Alaskan salmon. If you’re not into raw fish you can
have your fish cooked to order in any of the rolls. There’s
even a fresh choice of rolls for all you vegetarian sushi
lovers. Sushi Rock also features a fine selection of bistro-esque
organic salads like our Roasted Mac-nut Goat Cheese with
caramelized Maui onions and strawberry-papaya vinaigrette.
For the cooler days and nights there are seafood or miso
noodle bowls, with broths made fresh daily.
Recently expanded, Sushi Rock’s menu now includes Pacific
Rim influenced Hawaiian fish entrees as well as chicken and
tofu options to satisfy all appetites and palates. Chef Rio Miceli is
the man behind this culinary creation. He has cooked in kitchens in California’s
Bay Area as well as on the Big Island, and being born and raised less
than a mile from Sushi Rock’s location makes Chef Rio feel right
at home. This shows in his food and in the down-to-earth personality
of the helpful wait staff. Feel free to come in and ask for directions
to the local historical sights.
Offering seating at the sushi bar or indoor tables,
as well as covered outdoor seating. Reservations are recommended for
dinner for parties of three or more. Casual dining attire is suitable.
Without Boundaries, eclectic gift
shop is located inside the restaurant and makes for
a unique shopping experience before, after, or even
during your meal with us. Sushi Rock is open everyday
for lunch and dinner, with a more extensive menu
for dinner service. So head down to Hawi and eat
at Sushi Rock for your most real, island dining experience
on the Big Island.
